 Doctorate for Pastor K.J.Matthew. 

Kolkata: Pastor K J Mathew, Senior Pastor of Assemblies of God, former Principal of Bethel Bible College and General Secretary of South India Assemblies of God, has completed his Doctor of Ministry (D. Min)  course from Serampore University.

His dissertation deals with the role and contribution of the laity in the growth of the Nava – Pentecostal communities and how it calls on the Assemblies of God community in Kerala . His thesis cites an in-depth study on the role of the laity (faith community) in the growth and development of the church in today’s changed context.

His dissertation is rich in discoveries and ideas that pave the way for the all-round growth of the Assemblies of God community in Kerala

Pastor KJ Mathew is the first child of Late Pastor K M Joseph – the treasurer of Assemblies of God Malayalam District Council. Pastor K J mathew was raised in Malabar Parsonage, where he completed his childhood and adolescence through many hardships. 

After dedicating himself to evangelism, he began his theological studies at Bethel Bible College, Punalur. He completed his B.D M.Th from higher theological study centers like the Southern Asia Bible College (S.A.B.C) in Bangalore and United theological college (U.T.C).  He also holds Post Graduate Degrees (M.A) in English Literature, Philosophy and History from the Universities of Calicut, Kerala.

Along with his church ministry, he also worked as a theologian at the Kizhillam Peniel Bible seminary and  Good News for Asia Bible College -Puthankurish.

He began teaching in 1990 at Bethel Bible College, Punalur. In 1996, he was elected as the Secretary of the Malayalam Council. In 2003 he took charge as Assistant Superintendent.

In connection with Bethel Bible College, he served as Director, College Registrar , and Vice-Principal for H.M.C and then as Principal of Bethel from 2014 to 2018. He has been the General Secretary of the South India Assemblies of God since 2017.

Wife Rosamma Mathew; Son Martin Joe Mathew lives with his family in Bahrain and daughter Meryl lives in Canada with her family.
