MUMBAI: A 40-year-old man and his two minor sons died on the pot while his wife Mary who sustained serious injuries was rushed to the Platinum Hospital in critical condition when their car was hit by a speeding tempo on Sativali Bridge on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway at Vasai on Tuesday.
Thomas Uledar, a resident of Citizen Colony in Naigaon (West) was travelling in a Nano car with his wife Mary (35) and sons Benny (10) and Izail (5). Thomas was driving the car and Mary was seated next to him. The boys were on the rear seat.
At around 6.30pm, when they were heading to Vasai and had reached Sativali Bridge, a tempo rammed into their car from the rear and fled. The car jumped the divider and landed on the Mumbai lane.
The driver of the tempo, who fled from the spot after the accident, was later arrested by the Kasa police. He has been handed over to the Valiv police in Vasai (East) where a case of causing death due to negligence has been registered.
Pastor Thomas Uledar was a survivor of 26/11 attack.
